Artists > Robert Lloyd
Yorkshire born Robert Lloyd, a graphic designer for over 30
years, has finally unleashed his inner self . . .
From an early age Rob was drawing and sketching, he even had
a drawing board, ‘t’square and set square whilst at junior school. Although
those early years proved inspiring, a career in the motor trade beckoned, but
after 10 years, Rob, packed in his job and embarked on a Graphic Design course
at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology. It changed the course of his life
and he has never looked back.
As Rob says "My first career gained me the Art of
Diplomacy, my second career gained me a Diploma in Art!â€
Over time, Rob has become fascinated in design, art,
photography, and illustration. So much so, that he feels now is the time to
release his first collection of prints.
He has gained the skills, the aptitude and expression from
his varied collection of travels and work within the industry, for over 3
decades.
Rob, describes his work as ‘loose - with bits missing’, as
he explains, "There is a fine line between knowing when to stop, or
overworking it - just like when I design anything, and I
like the idea that the viewer finalises the piece in their
head - it makes them become more involved in my work.â€
My work is inspired by the sea, holidays and people watching
. . . I draw, scan and generally use all my own photographs to produce my work
with love and care. The final piece may
be done on a computer these days but my efforts are no less
worthy and the results bring a smile to everyone’s face - hopefully!
