I fell in love with Japanese paper cutting as a shy art student back in 1973 and I have developed my slant on this technique over the years to suit my hand-grip. I noticed the juxtaposition of shapes and shadows whilst gardening and translated these into paper cuts, using patterns to embellish personal gifts, cards, wall murals, stencils, wooden furniture or boxes and even my three Smart cars. All my cuts have a story behind them.
Up until July 2017 I have displayed at craft fairs in Stamford, Oundle, Rutland Showground and latterly at the Van Hague garden centre, along the The Gables Emporium.
I am still looking for the right place and have recently ventured to showcase my work with the Peterborough Open Art Studios during June 2018, which gave me a platform to engage with a wider audience, as an added result of this participation Gallery Stamford invited me to exhibit with them, during August.
